Forbundet har en meget stærk inklusiv etos af omsorg og respekt udviklet omkring et eksplicit engagement i kristne værdier. Vi erkender, at selvom vores forbund har et kristent fundament, kommer nogle af vores børn fra en bred vifte af baggrunde, herunder børn fra andre trossamfund. Det er Foreningens mål at give børn en atmosfære, praksis og uddannelse, hvor deres åndelige liv og erfaring vil udvikle sig.

Som Church of England-akademier holder vi kristne overbevisninger og værdier i vores hjerte. Vi mener, at det er vigtigt at udvikle kristne værdier, hvormed vi kan leve godt sammen, og som hjælper med at udvikle en moralsk og åndelig bevidsthed.

Vores centrale kristne værdi er kærlighed. På tværs af vores forbund opfordres alle til at elske og respektere sig selv, andre, Gud og hans verden. Bibelen fortæller os,

 

"Gud er kærlighed. Den, der lever i kærlighed, lever i Gud og Gud i dem. ” (1 Johannes 4:16).

 

Værdien af ​​'kærlighed' understøtter alt, hvad vi gør i vores forbund. Vi tror på, at vi gennem et fokus på kærlighed ved at arbejde sammen som en del af en stærk og støttende familie alle kan opnå mere.

Hvert akademi har identificeret adskillige andre kristne værdier, der skal udforskes mere detaljeret gennem daglige tilbedelseshandlinger og vores læseplan.

 

Gaverne fra 'Respekt, venlighed, ærlighed, tillid og fred' er de værdier, vi håber og stræber efter, som vores børn fremmer i løbet af deres tid på vores spædbarnsakademi.

Når vores børn fortsætter deres læringsrejse gennem vores juniorakademi, fokuserer vi på de ekstra værdier af 'Mod, ansvar, kreativitet, udholdenhed og medfølelse'.

Mens disse gaver inkluderer menneskelige værdier, forsøger vi at forankre dem i den kristne tro ved at relatere dem til Bibelen gennem historier og læsninger.

Vi er en del af Church of England, og vi inkluderer kirken og mennesker, der arbejder med kirken, i vores Federation-familie. Vi besøger kirken regelmæssigt og involverer mennesker, der arbejder sammen med kirken i vores tilbedelse.

Hvad er et Church of England Academy?

Længe før regeringen blev involveret i at tilbyde uddannelse til alle i vores land, havde Church of England en vision om, at den ønskede, at hvert sogn skulle have en skole til uddannelse af fattige børn. I 1900 var der 5.700 statsfinansierede skoler og 14.000 skoler finansieret af Church of England. I dag har ca. en fjerdedel af alle folkeskoler et Church of England-fundament, hvorigennem de stræber efter at levere den højest mulige uddannelsesstandard i partnerskab med staten.

Fra de tidligste dage var kirkeskolens formål at sætte børn i stand til at blomstre ved at tilbyde en grundlæggende uddannelse og ved at udvikle deres moralske karakter. Det var altid meningen, at kirkeskolerne skulle være åbne for alle børn i menigheden. Skolerne er ikke 'troskoler' i den forstand, at de antager, at børn praktiserer kristne eller forsøger at gøre omvendte til dem. Skolens etos er dog baseret på særprægede kristne værdier, og de vil tilbyde børn en oplevelse af tro gennem kollektiv tilbedelse og tilknytning til sognekirken. Religiøs uddannelse i kirkeskoler vil altid omfatte undervisning om andre trosretninger, og de følger normalt den samme pensum for RE som ikke-kirkelige skoler. Siden 2010 er nogle kirkeskoler blevet omdannet til akademier. Denne proces indebærer en ny måde at styre skolen på, bortset fra den lokale myndighed, og gør ingen forskel på den måde, hvorpå skolens grundlæggende etos leves ud dagligt.

Hvad tilføjes ved at være Church of England akademier?

Kirkeskoler og akademier anerkender, at såvel som akademisk og følelsesmæssig intelligens har mennesker også åndelig intelligens. De åndelige aspekter af livet vil blive anerkendt og næret sammen med alles akademiske og følelsesmæssige behov. Church of England skoler og akademier er steder, hvor spørgsmålstro om tro og ikke-tro opmuntres, da vi alle forsøger at give mening om verden, livets gave og formålet med vores egne personlige liv. Selvom vi lever i et stadig mere sekulært samfund, har vores lands værdier deres rødder i den kristne tro. Kirkeskoler og akademier fejrer dette fortsat som et aspekt af arven, der gør det muligt for dem at være vellykkede læringssteder for børn i alle trosretninger og ingen.

Hvilke forskelle skal du bemærke?

Som elev, forælder, besøgende eller personale skal du finde din kirkeskole eller akademi er lige så god som enhver anden god skole eller akademi, men du bør føle, at den måde, akademiet fungerer på, er anderledes og særpræg. Denne karakteristiske forskel vil være forankret i kristne værdier, der påvirker den måde, som alle opfører sig på, og på den måde, som alle respekteres. Rundt akademiet vil der være tegn og symboler, der afspejler den kristne arv, som akademiet er bygget på. Der kan også være områder til refleksion, der indeholder akademibønner og bønner, som børnene selv har skabt. Derudover vil der være en langt større vægt på forbindelser med den lokale sognekirke end normalt ville være tilfældet i en ikke-kirkelig skole. Imidlertid bør intet af ovenstående tages som indikatorer for, at kristen tro bliver håndhævet. Kirkeskoler og akademier opfordres til at:

· Sikre, at skolen eller akademiet ledes af en leder eller rektor, der med hjælp fra personalet er forpligtet til at etablere og opretholde den kristne karakter af skolen / akademiet i dets daglige aktiviteter og i læseplanen

· Deltage meningsfuldt i en ægte handling af kristen tilbedelse hver dag

· Tilbyde et skole- / akademiliv, der inkorporerer værdierne i den kristne tro

· Sikre, at religiøs uddannelse gives mindst 5% af undervisningstiden, og at karakteren og kvaliteten af ​​religiøs uddannelse er en særlig bekymring for lederen / rektoren og det ledende organ

· Overhold de store kristne festivaler og sørg for, at andre trosretninger er i stand og opmuntret til at markere deres store festivaler med integritet

· Opretholde og udvikle et aktivt og bekræftende forhold til en sognekirke

· Proklamerer, at det er en Church of England-skole eller -akademi på dens eksterne skilt og på dens papirvarer og gøre passende brug af kristne symboler inden for og uden for skolen / akademiet.

Vores kollektive tilbedelse kan antage en række former, såsom at fejre succes, byde præster velkommen eller dele arbejde med andre. Vi fokuserer på en anden kristen værdi hver halve periode.
